Subway Riders photograph print large view New York City is aptly called a great melting pot, because it contains such a vast variety of people, all brought together in public spaces like the subway or the street. This is an absolutely typical subway scene, yet the contrast between the indiduals, especially the two men on the left, invites the viewer to create a speculative back-story about who they are and where they are going.
